Thursday August 8 House Fire in Town of Rock Falls Displaces Homeowner
TOWN OF ROCK FALLS – On Thursday August 8th at 8:14 AM, multiple units from the Merrill Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire on South End Road in the Town of Rock Falls. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department was also on site to assist in the effort. There was only one occupant living at the residence, who was found outside of the home and uninjured.
Upon arriving on the scene of the blaze, the department found that the house was fully engulfed in flames. A water tank was set up and firefighters began fighting the fire. Following a request for assistance, firefighters from Pine River, Russell, Corning, and the Town of Texas brought tenders to the scene, and Tomahawk EMS staged in Irma for ambulance coverage, The Salvation Army also responded and assisted at the scene.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Shelter and basic needs are being provided to the home’s owner by the American Red Cross and Merrill Firefighters’ Charities.
